Security analyst Adib Saani has cautioned that the rampant killings within the Upper West Regional capital, Wa, are creating alternatives for terrorists to exploit Ghana’s security lapses.

In a dialog with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning on Thursday, he explained that the state of affairs can’t be thought of a terrorist assault.

According to him, terrorists proudly announce their tendencies in a nation.

According to him, the present state of affairs is creating methods for terrorists to stage assaults against the pursuits of Ghanaians, making it a fear to security experts.

“This is not a terrorist attack. However, it opens the gate for terrorists to exploit the insecurity situation and the security lapses to also perhaps stage attacks against our interests. That is why this issue was really a matter of worry for everyone, especially those of us within the security space, “he explained.

Mr Saani believes the increasing rate of murder figures is a result of the reduction in the socio-economic condition of the country.

In addition, he indicated that the international crisis, including Covid-19, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the high cost of living, among others, are contributing factors to the increasing rate of killings within some communities in the country.

“The whole issue in Wa is multidimensional in nature. Apart from people wanting it for rituals,… We also have certain socio-economic deficits that are pushing people into uncertainty. Perhaps as a result of local and international dynamics, “
