A man was fighting for life on Tuesday after a hit-and-run smash in south London.

The victim, in his 40s, was struck by a car whereas crossing Wandsworth Road, Clapham around 1am.

Scotland Yard said initial enquiries recommend the pedestrian was concerned in a collision with the car which failed to cease at the scene.

An pressing investigation is taking place to hint the motive force. Police officers attended together with paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance.
