Male teacher drowns his three children at Akatsi North

A teacher at Ave-Afiadenyigba RC Basic School within the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region, Venunye Dordor, has allegedly drowned three of his children in a water reservoir at his home at Ave-Afiadenyigba. 

The lifeless our bodies of the children, two boys, and a girl, aged 4, 9 and 11 years respectively, have been retrieved from the reservoir. 

Mr Isaac Sowu Newton, the Assembly Member of the area, said the Ave-Dakpa Police have been known as and the our bodies have since been conveyed to the St Anthony Hospital morgue at Dzodze for preservation and post-mortem. 

He told the Ghana News Agency that he received misery calls at about 2240 hours on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from residents in regards to the incident. 

He said the suspect, a father of 5 and believed to be in his 40s, allegedly dropped the trio into the reservoir before screaming for help after trying to kill himself additionally. 

Mr Sowu said, in accordance to the residents, a misunderstanding ensued between the suspect and his spouse, who resided at Anloga. 

The police would come out with their findings at the suitable time, he said. 

The suspect, believed to be mentally in poor health, is currently in police custody serving to with investigations. 

A police supply at Ave-Dakoa has since confirmed the incident to the GNA.
