A hearth has burnt down shops containing lots of of cedis price of products at the Mile 7 market in Achimota, Accra. The reason behind the hearth, which began round 12:30 am and destroyed properties, is but to be identified.
In a publish on social media, the Ghana National Fire Service revealed that about 30 wood constructions had been destroyed together with 50 steel containers used for industrial functions.
The hearth service noted that it took the efforts of the Abelemkpe Fire Station and the Legon Fire Station to put out the hearth.
“The stout efforts of the combined team brought the ferocious fire under control at 0318 hours. The Crew finally succeeded in knocking the ruinous fire out at 0515 hours to save other surrounding residential structures and the Mile 7 Post Office from any fire damage. The fire cause is yet to be determined. Fortunately, no casualty was recorded.”
Meanwhile, talking to JoyNews one trader said that she lost about GHS200,000 price of products after the hearth was put out.
She noted that she couldn’t salvage something from her store regardless of the efforts of the hearth service.
One man who owns a chilly retailer along with his sister said they had been noted of the hearth at round 12:30am, nevertheless, efforts to attain the hearth service proved futile. So, he drove to the closest police station to look for assist and was promised the GNFS had been on their manner.
Although they arrived to put out the hearth, the trader said they’ve lost their items and home equipment like fridges amongst others.
He told JoyNews that one eyewitness noticed two males drive away from the scene on a motorbike when the hearth began. He said that despite the fact that the official report is but to come out, many are suspecting the boys.
Meanwhile, other traders have known as for assist with many saying that they used all their money to function their companies.
