The resident representative in Ghana for the United Nations Development Program, UNDP, Dr. Angela Lusigi, says Ghana is on the right monitor to achieving what she described as “an ambitious target” in the renewable energy mix.

Speaking after a tour of the Bui Power Authority’s hydro and photo voltaic technology stations, she said although she is impressed, much more progress might be achieved with extra cooperation.

Dr. Lusigi toured key sections of the technology station and the photo voltaic energy farm, together with the management rooms and floating photo voltaic panels put in on the hydro dam’s reservoir.

The go to was to help verify BPA’s work on renewable energy and reforestation in the communities as a part of the sustainable growth goals on local weather change, adaptation, and mitigation and guarantee the use of unpolluted energy.

She said there is a range of alternatives to develop renewable energy in Ghana per what she has seen on the floor – hydro and photo voltaic.

Dr. Lusigi expressed her amazement with the floating photo voltaic panels and added that they might be used to guarantee energy entry for all, and a simply energy transition to guarantee extra renewables in the energy mix.
