Former assistant coach of the Black Stars, Ibrahim Tanko, has suggested the technical team of the national team to give consideration to deploying Mohammed Kudus as a false nine.

The midfielder has thrived in that role for Ajax through the 2022/23 season thus far and has seen him score six occasions with simply 10 pictures taken.

With the Black Stars’ placing option trying removed from convincing regardless of the addition of Inaki Williams, Tanko, who as soon as performed for Ghana, has requested Otto Addo to give Kudus the false nine role.

“Kudus is a very talented player. He can play in many positions. If you pair him with a holding midfielder, he can play as a no 8 and a striker,” he told Joy Sports.

“The technical team has a plan so let’s hope that all the boys stay fit so the technical team will have options to select from. [False 9] It’s one of the options the technical team can look at.”

Ghana will play Brazil and Nicaragua in worldwide friendlies this month as a part of preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar.
